A dental implant designed to replace a single tooth is composed of three parts:
1- The titanium implant that fuses with the jawbone
2- The abutment, which fits over the portion of the implant that protrudes from the gum line
3- The crown, which is created by a prosthodontist or restorative dentist and fitted onto the abutment for a natural appearance.
An incision is made over the crest of the site where the implant is to be placed. This is referred to as a flap. a small hole is then drilled in the jawbone where the implant will be placed.(Surgical technique)
It is a flapless surgery where a piece of mucosa is punched-out from over the implant site. Then a small hole is drilled in the jawbone and the implant is placed. this allows for a decreased recovery time.(Non surgical technique)
When you visit our clinic the implantologist will examine your jawbone and will decide which implant procedure is suitable for you. we are glad to serve you!!!
